Last week, House Republicans stood united on the Capitol steps to announce their Commitment to America; an agenda that will Restore our way of life, Rebuild the greatest economy in history, and Renew the American Dream. - Kevin McCarthy 1
Democrats, the Main Stream Media, and Joe Biden, in particular, have smeared MAGA in such negative ways it boggles the mind to keep up with their lies and misrepresentations. The prevaricators have tried to make the term obnoxious and vile. I fear that if you say the lie long enough, people will assume it is the truth. Thank you, Joseph Gerbals.
Joe Biden has even gone so far as to label Trump Supporters as "Ultra MAGA." The
the connotation here is the Trump Supporters are super duper, very nasty people. Since over 40 million voters cast their ballot for Trump, that is one massive group of evil people. Many of these voters will likely be in Hillary's basket of deplorables. This terminology really means that the Libs are frustrated that they have not been able to convince a large voting block that they are on the wrong side of history. Orange Man Bad! Trump is evil, and he will destroy our Democracy! I beg your pardon; I thought we had a republic, a government elected by the citizens that follows the rule of law, not a democracy run by the mob that executes anyone who disagrees with the ruling class.
Should I be in a political discussion where my opponent uses the term MAGA in a negative manner, I would ask, what does MAGA stand for? It's a simple question, and it has a simple answer. I expect my opponent to skirt the words of the acronym and repeat some negative responses learned from the Fake News. I will have none of this misinformation. I just want the person to repeat the words of the slogan. Make America Great Again. Then I would ask, "What does that statement mean to you?" This is where the rubber meets the road. I would respectfully listen to the answers and try not to interrupt.
This is how I would respond to what MAGA means to me.
“If a sports team had this slogan, it wouldn’t mean creating a team like they had 50 years ago, it would mean creating an organization that could be successful in the current system. If a business like IBM had the slogan, it wouldn’t mean they were looking to make PCs from the 1980s, it would mean they were trying to create a world-class organization to be successful in today’s markets.
“While making the country great again could refer to reaffirming some of the values and morals of the greatest generation, it certainly doesn’t mean going backward. It means making the United States the greatest country on earth today and into the future.” 2
Nowhere in the four words is there any suggestion of a return to slavery, loss of women's rights, restricting abortion, or removal of child labor laws. The slogan means returning to the Bill of Rights, the Constitution, and the moral righteousness of our religion and personal beliefs and honoring the golden rule. That is what makes America great.
