Over 50 arrested in Philadelphia after groups loot stores

Let me completely condemn these sickening scenes; scenes of looting, scenes of vandalism, scenes of thieving, scenes of people attacking police, of people even attacking firefighters. This is criminality pure and simple and it has to be confronted. - David Cameron

The incidents followed a protest over dropped charges in the fatal police shooting of Eddie Irizarry, but the police commissioner said the events "have nothing to do with the protest.” 1

Dayjia Blackwell, 21, a social media influencer in Philadelphia, is among the 52 people who were arrested for alleged involvement in widespread looting Tuesday night.

Most of us who watch the news have been appalled and sickened at the response by the looters and rioters in Philidelphia after Eddie Irizarry was shot and killed this past month by the police. An Apple store, a Lululemon Store, a Footlocker Store, and a CVS store were looted, no ransacked to the walls. I have never seen such devastation of merchandise. Finally, the Philadephia Police were given the green light by the mayor and the police chief to arrest the perpetrators. You can see the arrests as the rooters try to flee the scene as they realize arrests are imminent. See the video at the end of this blog.

Municipal Judge Wendy Pew dismissed all charges — which included murder, manslaughter, official oppression and more — against Philadelphia Officer Mark Dial who shot Irizarry, 27, through his rolled-up car window during a traffic stop on Aug 14.
Pew said she “100%” agreed with Dial’s defense attorneys who argued that the cop acted in defense when he fired his gun six times at Irizarry, believing he had a gun. 3

The police claim the looting and Riot had nothing to do with the ruling by Judge Pew. I think

Loading up the loot.
Loading up the loot.

The chief is spinning here. The riot leaders had time to organize the looting and informed the perpetrators when to strike to overwhelm the police and the community downtown. Because the criminals had been free to loot as they pleased in the past, they were surprised at the response of the police. More than fifty looters were arrested. Were they charged, and will they go to trial? Who knows.

What is different in this case is that law enforcement and the mayor's office have come to the realization if they do not stop the mayhem, Philadelphia will become a ghost town, and there will be no reason for the city to exist. That is unless you want to have a haven for criminals to run the streets and terrorize at will. Oh my, they are doing that now!

It does not take a brilliant person to predict that the people will leave the city in droves, never to return. Could Philadelphia be the straw that broke the camel's back? Will this resonate in other Democrat-run cities? In plain English, will these mayors and city councils finally wake up to the impending disaster facing their cities due to "Defund the Police?" Don't hold your breath.

This is pretty violent. If you missed it on TV, you can watch Riot here.
